Environment Protection Solutions
Silt fence sediment barriers prevent pollutants entering the environment.
Run-off from construction sites can enter storm water drains, canals, dams, creeks, rivers and oceans, unless correctly installed sediment barriers are utilised.
The sediment run-off can contain contaminated soil, micro plastics, harmful chemicals, heavy metals and other toxins, which impact the delicate balance of our aquatic and marine environment.
At Coastal Silt Fence, we use the highest quality materials, the most efficient silt fence installation systems and the safest working methods, to help ensure our clients meet their environment protection obligations.
We only use UV stabilised geotextile material, which will last up to 3 years.
We are trusted to install silt fence sediment barriers on the biggest and most challenging civil construction jobs, large scale commercial job sites and small residential building sites.
Our service area includes Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Gympie and Fraser Coast regional council areas.
If you require our services on a regular basis, or just for one job, we can work in with your needs.
We are fully insured and have up to date - Safe Work Method Statement, Environmental Health and Safety Management Plan, Plant Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment documents. All of which are available upon request.
With the enormous amount of development happening in our region, the environment is under a lot of pressure. We can all help to minimise the impact that this development has on our natural environment, by taking all necessary steps to prevent run-off entering our waterways. One effective way to do this is by erosion control and silt fence sediment barriers are the most efficient.
Due to large scale habitat destruction over many decades, the habitat of the Wallum Sedge Frog has been heavily impacted. They are now listed as threatened under State and Federal government legislation.
Temporary frog protection barriers, or frog fences, are installed alongside sensitive areas during earthworks, to minimise further impact on their habitat.
Coastal Silt Fence is able to assist with the installation of temporary frog protection barriers.
Using a silt fence plough attachment on our skid steer machine, we plough the silt fence directly into the ground. The silt fence is then supported by hardwood stakes.
This method causes minimal disturbance to the soil, which is ideal for environmentally sensitive areas, and also ensures that the silt fence is firmly embedded into the ground.
There is also less physical strain on the installer, compared to other, more labour intensive methods, minimising the risk of workplace injury.
Silt fence installed on building site at Gympie in accordance with Queensland state and local government legislation.
